Sea bands can relieve morning sickness
Morning sickness is one of the sore experiences of pregnancy. Doctors are not very comfortable treating nausea with medications during pregnancy. The most effective solution to treat nausea without any drugs or risk is through the use of sea bands. A sea band is an acupressure band and comprises of a plastic button on an elastic band. A pregnant woman needs to wear this band around her wrists at the proper position. If worn properly, this band exerts pressure on Nei Kuan or P6 points in the wrist which can considerably reduce the feeling of nausea.


How to use sea bands for morning sickness?

Purchase of a sea band from a reliable source is recommended as this involves applying acupressure during the critical phase of pregnancy.

Apply the sea bands on the wrist at the proper time. The sea bands generally take five minutes to show some effect. The pregnant women should apply the sea band at the first feeling of nausea. It is better to use it before the feeling sets in. If the nausea occurs at relatively the same time on a daily basis, you should try to apply it accordingly.

Keep the sea band around the wrist. The plastic stud should face inwards to touch the skin. Moreover, the sea band should be worn in such a manner that the plastic bump is on the inner side of the writ below the palm. Position the sea band properly by scooting it on the forearm.

A woman should know the exact position of the sea band. A simple technique to know the pressure point is by placing three middle fingers of one hand on the inner wrist of the other hand. The ring finger should be placed on the line bifurcation hand and the arm. The area just below the pointer finger is the pressure point where the sea band needs to be applied. The plastic stud should apply pressure on this specific point to reduce nausea.

It is advisable to remove the bands soon after the symptoms of nausea subside. They are generally safe to wear as long as one likes. These bands exert pressure on the wrist and get uncomfortable after some time.
