A common question that every teenager asks
is "How to get rid of pimples fast?" A pimple is basically a red,
elevated skin blemish that generally contains pus. These eruptions generally
occur among teenagers, and can affect them physically and psychologically, even
leaving them depressed. One of the most common reasons for the eruption of
pimples include the hormonal disturbance in the body during or prior to
menstruation, stress, dandruff and side effects of certain drugs.
Many medications and over-the-counter
crèmes are available to eradicate the eruption from your face. However, there
are many wonder cures within your own kitchen shelves that can not only get rid
of your pimples fast, but also add a glow to your face. These home remedies do
not have any side effects and are extremely effective. Some of them are so
powerful that they can free you of your red sprouts overnight.
Home Remedies to get rid of pimples fast
Remedy # 1: Skin Exfoliation
One of the best remedies to get rid of
pimples is to keep your face clean. Hence, it is essential to include a regular
skin care routine in your life.
Cleanse your face with a mild cleanser at
least once a day. Plain unboiled milk is considered as the best home cleanser
for the skin. You should also ensure to maintain your hair free of dirt or oil.
Steam your face by draping a towel over
your head. This steam can soften the skin and ease the process of exfoliation.
Exfoliate our skin for 3 minutes with a
homemade exfoliation agent. Oatmeal is the best exfoliation agent, if you have
many open blemishes or sensitive skin. You can also use coarse almond powder
soaked in milk, poppy seeds or sea salt to exfoliate your skin naturally. They
can effectively remove the dead skin cells, and aid in eradicating the pimple.
Remedy # 2: Papaya mask
Peel fresh and ripe papaya, remove the
seeds and grind in a blender. Blend for 2 minutes till the fruit becomes a
thick paste. Apply the paste on the affected areas and leave it for 15-25
minutes. Rinse it with cool water and pat your face dry. Use this mask daily to
obtain best results. Papaya also acts as a bleaching agent and brightens your
face.
Remedy # 3: Aloe Vera
The long and thin stalks of aloe Vera are
an ornamental addition to most of the home gardens. You will be amazed to know
that the juice and the gel of the aloe plant can be used to counter the
reddishness that makes a pimple easily visible to others. Break a piece of an
aloe plant, squeeze the gel/juice and apply it on the affected parts with a
cotton swab, at least twice daily. However, apply a moisturizer on your face to
avoid skin flaking.
Remedy # 4: Tomato pulp and lemon juice
A mixture of tomato pulp and lime juice can
aid in clearing up your pimples effectively. Mix one and a half tomato with 1.5
Tbsp of fresh lime juice in a blender, and process till it turns into a paste.
Apply a thin layer of the mixture on the face and leave it for 15 minutes
before rinsing with cool water. Continue this procedure daily to reduce the
pimple intensity and eradicate them from your face.
Remedy # 5: Turmeric powder, sandalwood
powder and rose water/orange juice
To get rid of pimples, mix two tablespoons
of sandalwood powder and a pinch of turmeric powder to three teaspoons of
orange juice or rose water. Apply the paste on the face and leave for fifteen
to twenty minutes. This mask is excellent for the skin as sandalwood is a
natural and effective astringent. Turmeric has anti-bacterial and anti-fungal
properties and helps in the regulation of sebum, an oily substance produced in
the glands. Orange juice can help in clearing blemishes from your skin.
Alternatively, you can mix turmeric powder
with coconut oil or sesame oil, and apply over the pimples. The addition of a
pinch of cucumber juice or lime juice to turmeric and sandalwood powder will
also produce the same effect.
Remedy # 6: Honey, milk and apple
A paste of apple, honey and milk can aid in
the reduction of the visibility of pimples in an ultra-fast manner. Combine a
half peeled apple with 1/6 cup milk and 3 Tbsp of honey in a blender and
process for 45 seconds. Apply the mixture on the face and leave it for 10
minutes. Rinse with cool water and apply your routine moisturizer.
Remedy # 7: Baking soda paste
Research has proved that rubbing baking
soda on pimples can provide instantaneous results. Make a paste of water,
baking soda and salt and apply on the pimples for 5 minutes before rubbing it
off with cool water. Baking soda softens your skin, water hydrates it and salt
removes the dead skin cells effectively. This will aid in clearing up pimples
overnight.
Remedy # 8: Application of ice
Put crushed ice in an aluminium foil and
wrap it with a thin towel. Apply the ice on the affected spots for a minimum of
10 minutes. Ice application can push out the dirt and oil from your skin and
help in making your pimples disappear in no time.
Overview
All the home remedies have been known to
produce the best results and help in removing the pimples fast. However, you
should remember that none of the remedies will work, if you pop your pimples.
Popping them can break the eruption and spread infections all through the face,
instead of helping you to get rid of pimples.
